Once I corrected that, it worked for my Dish Network HDTV DVR so caller ID works. There shouldn't be any AC/DC transformers(wall worts) between the receiver and transmitter.
When it does work, it works fine, but just part-time just don't get it. I have moved the main unit even closer to the remote but it still only works periodically I only give it 2 stars because I feel like it is less than a good quality product. Dish Network sent this Easy Jack 2 system to me when I complained to them about a charge for not having a phone line connected to the receiver after I had moved into a new home, told them to either stop the charges or I would stop using their service. So they sent me this free of charge (I have been with them for quite a few years and get their top package)At first it seemed to work great, even though I did plug the remote one into a big surge protector, after a few weeks I noticed that once in a while it would not work right so I moved it to a regular outlet where it started working right again, but even after that there are a lot of times the light on the remote unit turns red and stops working.
Most (if not all) online retailers don't specify which model they are selling (D or V) in the product descriptions. I didn't test this on a phone unit, but the instructions inside the box ssys that. There supposed to be a PX-211V (V for Voice) model for Voice calling, but I wasn't able to find it anywhere. I purchased the Phonex PX-211D EasyJack 2 Wireless Phone Jack System after my original RCA model stopped working. So far it works as intended, and it shows caller id info on the TV, which I like. I purchased it because Dish Network charges a monthly fee if the receiver is not connected to a phone line. This particular model PX-211D (D for Data) Works for DVRs only to show caller ID info and transmit phone number back to satellite provider. Don't buy this if you plan on using to add a phone where there is no phone jack.
saves me 10.00 a month or the hassle of running a phone line. The first one synced up no problem the second one took a couple of times but they have been flawless since even after a power outage they came back on with no issues. The caller ID pass thru works as well using vonage Bought these and and extension unit when we went to Dish. I did read all of the reviews first and made sure it was not connected to a power strip.
Just plug it into an outlet near your receiver and the other unit to an outlet near your phone, your DVR will be connected to a phone line and you will be saving $5.99/month on your Dish bill. This works as advertised. Are you paying the extra $5.99 to Dish Network because your receiver is not connected to a phone line and there is no phone line near your receiver. This product from Phonex is the answer.
